Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal data Ardelia collects when you visit this website or register to learn more, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We collect as little as we can.
1. Who we are
This website is run by Ardelia, Inc., registered address (“Ardelia”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal data described in this notice.
For any question about your data, or to exercise any of the rights below, write to privacy contact address, e.g. info@.
2. What we collect
When you register to learn more
- Your email address.
- The name of your institution, if you choose to give it.
- The date and time you registered.
We do not ask for, and do not want, any other information through the form.
When you visit the website
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data needed to deliver the website and protect it from attack, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We do not use this data to identify you, and we do not combine it with your registration.
3. Why, and on what legal basis
- Writing to you about Ardelia
- We use your email address to tell you when Ardelia opens and, occasionally, to share news about the project, such as new sources. Our legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by registering and can withdraw at any time.
- Telling our team about your registration
- When you register, our team receives an email with your address and institution so that we can follow up with interested institutions. This relies on the same consent.
- Running and securing the website
- Technical data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a working, secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or make automated decisions about you.
5. International transfers
Some of our providers are based in the United States or process data there. Where personal data leaves the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (and its UK extension) where the provider is certified, or on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your registration until you withdraw your consent or ask us to delete it, or until retention period, e.g. 24 months after Ardelia opens if we have not written to you in that time, whichever comes first. We act on deletion requests within 30 days.
Cloudflare keeps technical logs for a short period set by its own policies.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it.
To use any of these rights, write to privacy contact address. You can also complain to your data protection authority, for example lead supervisory authority for the company, or the authority where you live or work.
9. Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects registrations already made, we will tell you by email.
